Preparation Method :

  • Cook the shallots along with sprigs of curry leaves and water and a little salt.
  • Cook till the shallots turn pale in colour.
  • Roast the grated coconut with oil and sprigs of curry leaves till it turns light golden brown.
  • Add in the coriander, chilly and turmeric powder and roast till it turns dark brown.
  • Grind this to a fine paste in a mixer without adding water.
  • Remove and add it to the cooked shallots along with water.
  • Add salt and heat well for few minutes. Remove from fire and serve hot.


  • 300 grams Shallots
  • 6 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 5 Green chilly
  • 500 grams Grated coconut
  • 50 grams Shallots
  • 5 tablespoons Coriander powder
  • 3 tablespoons Chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric powder
  • 3 tablespoon Salt
  • 5 tablespoons Sesame Oil
