Preparation Method :

  • Dry roast the coriander seeds, Bengal gram dal and black gram dal.
  • Fry the red chillies in the oil.
  • Mix all the ingredients together and grind to fine powder.
  • Store the powder in an airtight container and use as required.


  • 150 grams Bengal gram dal
  • 75 grams black gram dal
  • 100 grams dry red chillies
  • 75 grams coriander seeds  
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 2 teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • A marble-sized tamarind ball
  • Salt to taste
