Preparation Method :

  • Fry the red chillies in oil.
  • Dry roast all the other ingredients separately except turmeric till they give out their aroma.
  • Grind all the ingredients together to a fine powder.
  • Store in an airtight container.


  • 150 grams dry red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 150 grams coriander seeds
  • 150 grams cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds
  • 2 teaspoon red gram dal
  • 2 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Bengal gram dal  
  • 2 large sticks cinnamon
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon turmeric powder
