Preparation Method :

  • Mix the flour with baking soda, baking powder, salt, water and milk mixture to a smooth dough. Cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
  • Add oil and knead again. Cover the dough and keep aside for about 2-2½ hours or until it rises. Divide the dough into 6-8 balls.
  • Flatten balls and sprinkle onion and melon seeds. Cover and keep aside for few minutes.
  • Roll and flatten each ball using your palms, then stretch one side of the dough to give an elongated shape.
  • Stick the naan inside a hot tandoor using oven gloves for about 3-4 minutes. Apply butter and serve.


  • 250 grams Refined flour
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • Salt to taste

Whisk together

  • 2 tablespoon White butter
  • 2 tablespoon Yogurt
  • 50 ml Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Onion seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Melon seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • Ghee for greasing the baking tray
