Preparation Method :

  • The Filling: Mix all the ingredients together. Divide the filling into 8-10 equal portions.
  • Knead the wholewheat flour with enough cold water and ghee to make a soft dough.
  • Divide the dough equally into 8-10 portions. Flatten each out into a small disc.
  • Place 1 portion of the filling in the centre of the dough, press the edges to seal and reshape into a ball.
  • Roll each ball out into disc, dust with dry flour.
  • Heat it a griddle and cook the disc, drizzle a spoonful of ghee and cook till tiny brown spots appear on both sides. Similarly repeat with the other discs.
  • Serve hot with yogurt and chutney.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams Wholewheat flour, sifted
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee

The Filling

  • 75 grams potatoes, boiled, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon onion, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, roasted, powdered
  • 1 tablespoon green coriander, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee for shallow-frying
