MALABAR PARATHA

Preparation Time :
45 minutes

Cooking Time :
25 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Knead the flour with baking powder, spoonful of ghee, salt and enough water to form a soft dough.
  • Divide the dough equally into 6-8 balls. Roll each out into a thin disc and smear ghee over the surface.
  • Roll the disc from one end to the other and then coil it around. Repeat with the other balls. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  • Roll the coils again into thin discs.
  • Heat the griddle over low heat; place a disc flat over it and cook for a few minutes.
  • Turn the disc over and smear some ghee over and around it, fry till both sides are golden brown. Remove and repeat till all are done. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 225 grams refined flour, sifted
  • 100 grams ghee
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
