Preparation Method :

  • Sift the flour and salt. Mix in the oil and knead with enough water to make a smooth dough.
  • Divide the flour dough equally into 20-22 golf balls.
  • Flatten each ball, grease the top surface and add spoonful of stuff. Bring the edges together to seal the filling.
  • Make a ball and roll each out to a small disc. Repeat the process with other balls.
  • Heat the oil in a wok; deep-fry the discs, over low heat, till golden and crisp on both the sides. Remove and drain. Serve hot with vegetable curry.


  • 750 grams wholewheat flour
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • The Stuffing, Ground to Paste
  • 250 grams Whole blackgram , soaked  overnight, drained and peeled
  • 1 tablespoon fennel, pounded
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • A pinch Asatoefida
  • Cooking oil for frying
