CORNMEAL ROTI

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • In a large deep platter, combine the flour with salt and mix well.
  • Make a well in the centre and gradually knead in just enough warm water to make a soft dough.
  • Rest the dough for 5 minutes, then divide into 4 equal portions.
  • Roll out each portion into a 5-inch disc on a lightly floured surface.
  • Heat a griddle over medium heat and cook the roti for 30 seconds on each side. Brush with oil and keep turning the roti till crisp and golden on both sides.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams cornmeal
  • Salt to taste
  • sesame oil for frying
