Preparation Method :

  • Sift together the two flours. Add all the other ingredients, plus enough water to form a soft dough. Knead until the dough is smooth. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into sixteen equal portions and form into balls.
  • Grease the palms of your hands and also the worktop. Place a dough ball on the worktop and press it down a little to form a disc.
  • Make a roti out of the dough.
  • Heat a tawa over a medium heat. Place a roti on the hot tawa and allow to cook for 30 seconds. Flip and cook on the other side for 1 minute.
  • Flip again and press gently with some kitchen paper. The roti will fluff up. Remove from the tawa immediately and serve hot. Repeat for the other seven rotis.
  • Cook until the chapatis are light brown.


  • 250 grams gram flour  
  • 150 grams whole-wheat flour  
  • 100 grams fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 6 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 2 tablespoon pomegranate seeds  
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
