Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil and butter in a pan, fry the chicken pieces for a few minutes, then remove them from the fat and keep them aside in an ovenproof dish.
  • In the same fat, fry the onions for a few minutes, then add the orange juice, water, aji-no-moto and parsley, and boil.
  • Add the cornflour and cook for 2 minutes, then take the sauce off the stove and add the cream; season to taste.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken, cover with a lid, and bake in an oven at 180°C (350° F) for 45 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with the orange rind strips, and serve as it is in the ovenproof dish, or, place it in the centre of a ring of boiled, seasoned rice.


  • 750 grams broiler chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 150 ml orange juice
  • 100 ml water
  • ¾ teaspoon aji-no-moto, optional
  • 2 tablespoons parsley ,chopped
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour, mixed with ¼ cup water
  • 6 tablespoons cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon orange rind strips
