Preparation Method :

  • Clean crabs and remove the grey gills. Blanch in boiling water and remove it. Then cut each crab into 4 pieces.
  • Heat oil and butter in a heavy bottomed pan. Add crushed peppercorns and stir well.
  • Add garlic and mix well and then add green chilies to it.
  • Add crabs in the pan and mix well until it is covered with garlic and chilies.
  • Then add lime juice and sufficient salt and toss the pan to mix.
  • Stir well the crabs and cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the crabs are tender.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with kulchas or appams.


  • 2 large sized crabs
  • 3 tablespoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4-5 tablespoons black peppercorns, crushed
  • 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 6 green chilies cut lengthwise and deseeded
  • 6 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
