Preparation Method :

  • Mix together the minced lamb, onions, garlic, chillies, coriander and spices.
  • Form into balls. Heat the oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium to high heat.
  • Add the meatballs and cook, turning frequently, until well browned. Add the Balti spice mix, Balti sauce and ginger, and mix together gently.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer on a medium heat for 15-20 minutes. Serve.


  • 500 grams minced lamb
  • 4 medium onions, chopped as finely as possible
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 100 ml sesame oil
  • 4 teaspoon Balti spice mix
  • 500 ml Balti sauce
  • 1 inch fresh root ginger, grated
