Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a pan and add onion and sauté till translucent. Then add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies and sauté well.
  • Add turmeric powder and mix well and add deveined prawns and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Then add red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, Garam masala and sufficient salt and mix well.
  • Add tomatoes and sufficient amount of water and cook all the ingredients for 10 minutes with covered lid.
  • When prawns are cooked, add coconut milk and cream and stir well. Cook by constant stirring until it starts to boil in medium flame.
  • Remove from heat and transfer it to a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with naan, ghee rice or steamed rice.


  • 1 kg large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 large onions, roughly chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 2 green chilies, roughly chopped
  • 1 sprig coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons cream
