Preparation Method :

  • Blend the yogurt, paprika, garam masala, tomato puree, coconut milk, chilli powder and water into a large glass bowl, adjust seasoning with salt. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or large pan, add the ginger, garlic, cinnamon, cardamoms with salt. Fry over a low heat for about a minute or two.
  • Pour in the spice mixture and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the prawns and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce starts to thicken. Garnish and serve.


  • 12 - 14 peeled, cooked king prawns, thawed if frozen, excess liquid is removed
  • 150 ml water 
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 50 grams plain yogurt 
  • 1 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree 
  • 50 ml coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala 
  • 1 inch piece cinnamon stick, halved 
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder 
  • 4 green cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh root ginger 
  • Salt, to taste 
  • 25 grams chopped fresh coriander, to garnish
