Preparation Method :

  • Put the onions, tomato puree, ground coriander, turmeric, chilli powder, green chillies, and fresh coriander, lemon juice and salt into the bowl of a food processor.
  • Process until the mixture seems too thick, add a little water to loosen it.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or deep pan. Lower the heat slightly and add the spice mixture. Fry the mixture for 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Add the prawns and stir-fry briefly over a medium heat.
  • As soon as the prawns are heated through, transfer them to a serving dish .
  • Garnish with the rest of the fresh coriander and the chopped green chilli , Serve immediately.


  • 2 medium onions, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoon tomatos puree (paste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 2 fresh green chillies
  • 3 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 14-16 cooked king prawns (jumbo shrimp)
  • Sliced green chilies, to garnish, optional
