HARYALI PANEER KOFTA

Serves :
4

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
25 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Grate paneer. Mix paneer, cornflour, jeera powder, red chili powder and salt.
  • Mix all ingredients of the filling together.
  • Make 8 marble sized balls. Stuff a bit of nuts in each ball. Roll in dry maida and deep fry one at a time to a light golden colour. Keep aside.
  • Cook spinach with ¼ cup water on low flame for about 10 minutes. Remove from fire. Cool, Grind with green chilies.
  • Heat oil and fry onions to a golden colour.
  • Add tomato puree and cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
  • Add ginger, garlic paste, salt,turmeric and garam masala. Cook for at least 2 minutes.
  • Add spinach with measured water and cook for 10-12 minutes.
  • Add paneer koftas,keep on low flame for at least a minute. Serve hot with tandoori parathas or roti.

INGREDIENTS

Kofta

  • 100 grams paneer 
  • 2 tablespoon cornflour
  • ½ teaspoon roasted cumin seeds powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons maida - to coat

Gravy

  • 250 grams spinach (paalak) - chopped 
  • 2 green chilies - chopped
  • 2 onions - ground to a paste
  • 3 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1" piece ginger - crushed to a paste
  • 6 flakes garlic - crushed to a paste 
  • 50 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste

Filling

  • 3-4 almonds - chopped
  • 10 goldenraisins
  • 1 teaspoon very finely chopped ginger
