Preparation Method :

  • Grind the soaked red chillies and other ingredients with little water to a smooth paste.
  • Heat oil and add in mustard seeds. Let it splutter, then add in grated onions and curry leaves.Cook till onions turn light brown.
  • Add onion slices and coconut, cook for 5 minutes or till the onion turns soft.
  • Add red chili paste and cashews. Stir fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add food colour, water and salt to the mixture, finally add the paneer. Mix well. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes on low flame.
  • Sprinkle the lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.


  • 250 grams paneer - cut into cubes
  • 150 grams onions - 75 grams, grated and 75 grams, sliced 
  • 100 grams curry leaves
  • 90 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon mustard seeds 
  • 50 grams fresh coconut - grated finely
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice 
  • A pinch of red colour
  • 2 tablespoon cashews - crushed roughly

Red Chili Paste

  • 4 Kashmiri red chilies - deseeded and soaked in warm water for 10 minutes
  • 1" piece ginger 
  • 3 tablespoons curd 
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder 
  • 3 cloves
  • 6 peppercorns
