Preparation Method :

  • Cook the chopped yam with water and ½ teaspoon of salt for about 10-15 minutes. Remove from fire. If there is any water drain it. Mash it on low heat and Keep it aside.
  • Mix paneer, mashed potatoes, yam and all other ingredients to a slightly stiff paste.
  • Brush oil generously on the wire rack or grill of the oven. Wipe the skewers too.
  • Press kebab mixture into sausage-shaped kebabs on the skewers.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes or until golden brown in a tandoor or grill. Pour some melted butter on the kebabs to baste them.
  • Turn them only when they are almost done otherwise they tend to break. Spoon some oil on the other side also and grill until it is done completely.
  • Sprinkle tandoori masala on the kebabs.
  • Serve with onion rings sprinkled with lemon juice and chaat masala and lemon wedges.


  • 120 grams crumbled paneer
  • 2 potatoes - boiled,peeled and mashed
  • 250 grams yam - chopped and boiled
  • 100 grams cashew nuts - ground
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 onion - very finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies - very finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons green coriander - very finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon amchur
  • 3 tablespoon fresh bread crumbs
  • A pinch of tandoori red colour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or Cooking oil
  • Tandoori masala
  • Salt to taste
