Preparation Method :

  • Peel thegarlic cloves and Grind fifteen cloves of them and halve the rest.
  • Wash and Peel, grind ginger pieces.
  • Dry roast the mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds and crush them.
  • Heat sesame oil, add the remaining mustard seeds and chopped garlic.
  • Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on low flame
  • Add salt and blend well.
  • Add roasted spices, tamarind pulp and cook on high heat Add red chilli powder, ginger paste, garlic paste and jaggery.
  • Cook till the jaggery melts. Add a little more oil and cook to thicken.
  • Cool and store in a sterilized bottle.


  • 250 grams Garlic        
  • 1 inch piece Ginger    
  • 1/2 teaspoons Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds    
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds      
  • 50 grams Jaggery, grated       
  • 50 ml sesame Oil        
  • ¼ cup Tamarind pulp 
  • 1 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
