Makes :

Preparation Method :

  • Dry roast the fenugreek seeds and asafoetida powder. Powder fine and set aside.
  • Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds. When they splutter, add the chilli powder and turmeric powder and sauté for a minute.
  • Add the mango, salt and fenugreek-asafoetida powder. Cook till the oil seperates.
  • Cool completely and store in a bottle.


  • 1 kg green mangoes, Peeled and grated
  • 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • 50 grams chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 75 grams salt  
  • 100 ml Gingelly oil
  • 2 teaspoon mustard seeds
