Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds. When they splutter, add the green chillies. Fry well.
  • Mix in the tamarind, powdered jaggery, coriander leaves and salt.
  • Grind to a coarse paste, make sure not use water. Store in an airtight container.
  • Serve with dosai and curd rice.


  • 500 grams green chillies
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • A large lime-sized tamarind ball
  • 2 tablespoon powdered jaggery
  • A large bunch of coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
