Preparation Method :

  • Cook the rice and set aside.
  • Heat the oil. Add all the ingredients for tempering. When the mustard seeds splutter, add the green chillies, ginger and peanuts and fry for a minute.
  • Add the rice, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
  • Turn off the heat and mix in the lime or lemon juice.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.


  • 150 grams long-grained rice
  • 2 green chillies, chopped fine
  • 1" piece ginger, chopped fine
  • 3 tablespoon peanuts
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of 2 limes or lemons
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing


  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black gram dal
  • 1 teaspoon Bengal gram dal  
  • 2 teaspoon IDHAYAM Mantra Peanut oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 dry red chilli, halved
  • ½ teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • A few curry leaves
