One of the joys of stir-fry cooking is the ease and speed with which a good meal can be prepared. This one can be on the table in 15 minutes.
Serves :

Preparation Method :

  • Trim the steak and cut into very thin strips with a sharp knife.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan and cook the garlic over low to medium heat until golden. Do not let it burn.
  • Increase the heat to high, add the steak, and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Move the pieces of beef to the edges of the wok or pan and break the egg into the centre. When the egg starts to set, stir-fry it with the meat.
  • Add the rice and toss all the contents of the wok together.
  • Scrape up any residue on the base, then add the broccoli, soy sauces, sugar, and fish sauce and stir-fry for 2 minutes more.
  • Season the mixture to taste with pepper and serve immediately with chilli sauce.


  • 200 grams beef steak
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 250 grams cooked
  • Jasmine rice
  • ½ medium head broccoli, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon palm sugar or light muscovado (brown) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Thai fish sauce
  • Ground black pepper
  • Chilli sauce, to serve
