Preparation Method :

  • To make the dressing, whisk together the oil, garlic and vinegar and season to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Cook the French beans in a saucepan of boiling water for 2 minutes until just tender, then drain.
  • Mix together the salad leaves, sliced cucumber, tomatoes and French beans in a large, shallow bowl. Halve the anchovies lengthways and shell and quarter the eggs.
  • Preheat the grill. Brush the tuna steak with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through. Allow to cool, then flake with a fork.
  • Scatter the flaked tuna, anchovies, quartered eggs, radishes and olives over the salad. Pour over the dressing and toss together lightly to combine. Serve at once. 


  • 150 grams French beans, trimmed and cut in half
  • 2 tuna steak
  • Sesame oil, for brushing
  • 150 grams mixed salad leaves
  • 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 6 ripe tomatoes, quartered
  • 100 grams can anchovies, drained and halved lengthways
  • 6 eggs, hard-boiled
  • 1 bunch small radishes, trimmed
  • 100 grams small black olives
  • Salt and ground black pepper

For the dressing

  • 100 ml sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon white wine vinegar
