Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a kadai and temper mustard, roasted peanuts, fried gram, chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Toss in the puffed rice and mix well.
  • Allow to remain in the kadai for 5 minutes.
  • Cool and store in an airtight container.


  • 100 grams pori (puffed rice)
  • 50 grams roasted peanuts
  • 50 grams pottu kadalai (fried gram) flour
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon chilly powder
  • 10-15 curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
