Preparation Method :

  • Mix gram flour, salt, mustard oil, carom seeds and fenugreek leaves. Add some water and knead to a smooth dough.
  • Knead well for 4-5 minutes, sprinkling some plain flour as the mixture is a little
  • Divide the dough into 30 small balls. Roll into small puns (about 4" diameter), much thinner than normal chappati, (use plain flour for rolling.) Prick with a fork or the tip of a knife
  • Heat oil in a kadhai, bring to medium heat, and fry 2-3 papris at a time till crisp. Let the papris be in oil for 3-4 minutes for them to become crisp. Cool, store till further use.



  • 250 grams gram flour
  • 3 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fenugreek leaves
  • ½ teaspoon carom seeds
  • 2 tablespoon plain flour-for rolling
  • Sesame Oil for frying
