Preparation Method :

  • Mix all the ingredients together. Add sufficient water to make a stiff batter.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai or wok. Wet both your hands. Take a ladle of batter and place it on the palm.
  • Flatten the batter. Slip the batter gently into the oil.
  • Fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on a sheet of kitchen paper. Serve hot with mint chutney.


  • 100 grams rice flour
  • 100 grams fine semolina
  • 100 grams refined flour    
  • 50 ml ghee    
  • 4-5 green chillies, chopped fine
  • 2 medium-sized onions, chopped fine
  • A small bunch of coriander leaves, chopped fine
  • ½ teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • Salt to taste
