Preparation Method :

  • Peel and dice the potatoes and onion.
  • Heat the butter in a pan.
  • Add the potatoes and onion and fry for a few minutes.
  • Add about 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer till the potatoes are cooked.
  • Turn off the heat and let it cool.
  • Once it reaches room temperature, blend it into a smooth puree.
  • Put it back on the stove and add 1 cup of milk, or more, to bring it to the desired consistency. You can even use water instead.
  • Season with salt and some mixed Italian herbs and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • Serve with some extra butter and pepper (optional).


  • 2 medium-sized potatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon butter 
  • 200 ml milk
  • Mixed Italian herbs for seasoning
