Preparation Method :

  • Fry the onions, ginger and garlic in an open vessel for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the vegetables and the boiled chickpeas into it and stir in the masala mixture of turmeric, salt, basil and cinnamon into it for two minutes.
  • Add two cup of water and cover the mixture with a lid to boil.
  • Once it becomes frothy, take off the lid and squeeze in the tamarind for the tangy flavor.
  • Garnish it with the bay leaf and sprinkle the paprika over it.


  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 3-4 tablespoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 400 grams chopped onion
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 400 grams chopped, peeled sweet potatoes / vegetables
  • 200 grams chopped, fresh tomatoes
  • 100 grams chopped sweet peppers
  • 300 grams boiled chickpeas
  • 400 ml chickpeas stock
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf
