Preparation Method :

  • Heat Sesame Oil in a pan.
  • Add the garlic and onion and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Now add the diced sweet pumpkin with the skin and the sage leaves.
  • Fry for a couple of minutes and pour 2 cups of water.
  • Cover and cook till the pumpkin is soft.
  • Turn off the heat and blend it into a smooth puree.
  • Put the soup back on stove and bring it to a boil.
  • Add the cooked rice and season it with salt.
  • Sprinkle red chilli flakes.
  • Serve hot with some fresh bread on the side. 


  • 400 grams diced sweet pumpkin
  • 200 grams diced onion
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 50 grams sage leaves
  • 2 tablespoon of Sesame Oil
  • 50 grams cooked rice
  • Salt for seasoning
