Preparation Method :

  • Soak the rice and the dals for 30 minutes add the red chillies and coarsely grind. Keep aside Finely chop onions.
  • Finely chop coriander leaves.
  • Prepare the Adai batter into sem-pasty consistency and add the required salt, chopped onions and coriander leaves, curry leaves and the asafoetida powder to it.
  • Make ready a non stick tava and prepare pancakes with five holes in the adai and add a little oil as in the previous adai. When one side is done to a golden colour turn side. In half a minute, it is done.
  • Serve hot with chutney.


  • 300 grams of Parboiled Rice 
  • 200 grams of Thoor dal 
  • 100 grams of Urad dal 
  • 300 grams of Onion 
  • 2 teaspoon Asafoetida powder 
  • 200 grams of Coriander leaves 
  • 8 Red chillies 
  • 100 grams of Curry leaves 
  • Salt to taste
