Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan. Add the cumin seeds and saute until they start to change colour. Add the chopped onions, ginger and chillies, and stir-fry until the onions become translucent.
  • Dissolve the ground turmeric, cumin, coriander and chilli powder in water and add this to the pan. Cook on a medium heat for 30 seconds, stirring continuously.
  • Add the tomatoes and cook on a high heat for 2 minutes, stirring all the time. Stir in the crumbled tofu, peppers and salt. Mix well.
  • Reduce the heat and cook for 5 minutes, tossing frequently to prevent the tofu from sticking. Sprinkle on the coriander leaves and serve hot.


  • 3 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4 medium-sized onions, chopped
  • 2.5cm piece root ginger, chopped
  • 4 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 4 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped
  • 500 grams tofu, crumbled
  • 4 medium-size green peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 50 grams fresh coriander leaves, chopped
