Preparation Method :

  • Soak the brown poha in water for 20 minutes. Drain well.
  • Heat the oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, onions and chillies and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the roasted peanuts and turmeric, followed by the soaked poha and salt. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add the peas and lemon juice and mix again.
  • Garnish with the fresh coriander and serve hot.


  • 500 grams brown flattened rice
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon black mustard seeds
  • 15 curry leaves
  • 4 medium-size onions, chopped
  • 4 green chillies, slit and seeded
  • 50 grams roasted unsalted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 100 grams peas, cooked
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 5 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
