Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a small non-stick pan. Simmer to low flame and drop in the mustard seeds, peanuts and lentils.
  • Stir for about 10-15 seconds and add the curry leaves. Adjust seasoning with salt.
  • Add the water and chilli. Bring to the boil. Stir for another 20 seconds.
  • Sprinkle in the semolina and stir constantly for about 3 minutes to stop any lumps forming.
  • Leave undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes or until all the water has dried off.
  • Stir in the lemon juice, fluff up with a fork and serve hot.


  • 1 teaspoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon brown mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoon peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon channa dhal
  • Few fresh curry leaves
  • 100 ml hot water
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 small, dried red chillies, crumbled
  • 50 grams semolina(Rawa)  
  • Lemon juice, to taste
