CHEESE TOAST

Preparation Method :

  • Mix together the cheese, flour, mustard powder, red chilli powder, pepper and salt and add enough milk to make a paste of thick, spreading consistency.
  • Toast the bread to a pale golden brown.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 portions and spread over the toasts. Press the cheese-paste side of the toasts into the breadcrumbs.
  • Heat some oil in a frying pan, and place the toasts in the hot oil, cheese-side down. Fry them till they are golden and crisp. Do not fry the others.
  • Cut into triangles, and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 slices bread
  • 200 grams cheese, grated
  • 50 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Milk to bind
  • 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • Cooking oil to shallow-fry
