Preparation Method :

  • Grate coconut.
  • Soak rice in hot water for 20 minutes.
  • Grind it into a fine paste with coconut and Chillies.
  • Beat yoghurt and Chop vegetable into medium square pieces.
  • Pressure-cook ash gourd with salt for a whistle.
  • Add the ground paste to the mixture.
  • Allow mustard seeds to splutter in a teaspoon of coconut oil and add to the ash gourd mixture.
  • Add yoghurt to the mixture and stir well.
  • Remove from fire, and add the remaining coconut oil and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice.


  • 1 kg ash gourd
  • 500 ml of Yoghurt
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Salt to taste


  • 4 tablespoons rice
  • 200 grams of coconut
  • 8 Green chillies
