Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a wok; add the crushed garlic mixture, onions and ginger; saute till golden brown.
  • Add the tomato puree with little oil, chilli powder and adjust seasoning with salt; saute till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Add the fried potatoes and salt; saute again. Add the water, mix well.
  • Cook covered, over low heat, for 3-5 minutes or until the gravy is thick enough to coat the potatoes.
  • Garnish with green coriander and Serve hot.


  • 600 grams Potatoes, small, peeled, fried till golden and tender
  • 2 Onions, grated
  • 4 tomatoes, boiled, peeled and puree
  • 100 ml Water
  • 50 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • A pinch of Sugar
  • 2" Ginger piece, grated
  • Red chilli powder and salt, to taste
  • Green coriander leaves, to garnish

Crush Together

  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 1" Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Clove  
  • 5 Green cardamom
