Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Add the onions and cumin seeds and fry until a light golden brown colour.
  • Add the cubed pumpkin to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes over a low heat.
  • Mix in the amchur, ginger, garlic, chilli and salt.
  • Add the water, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer to serving plates and serve with Gram Flour Bread.


  • 500 grams green pumpkin, cubed
  • 250 ml water
  • 100 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 100 grams onions, sliced
  • ½ teaspoon white cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon amchur  
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, finely chopped
  • 3-4 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
  • Crushed red chilli, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
