Preparation Method :

  • Chop green chillies into fine pieces.
  • Red chilly halved.
  • Chop ginger and coriander leaves finely.
  • Beat yoghurt into lassi.
  • Add beaten yoghurt, chana dal flour, tumeric powder, asafoetida, salt and curry leaves. Mix and keep aside.
  • Heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter. Add methi, red chilly, green chillies, ginger and stir.
  • Add these to the yoghurt mixture. Stir in medium fire until it thickens.
  • Serve hot with rice.


  • 400 ml of Yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoon chana dal flour
  • A pinch turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 10 Methi
  • 2 Red chilly
  • 4 Green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of Cooking oil
  • A few curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves for garnisasafoetida
  • Salt to taste
