Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a large frying- pan. Add the onions, green chillies and curry leaves. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and chilli to taste.
  • Gradually add the okra, mix in gently. Stir-fry the vegetable mixture for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Add in the sliced tomato and sparingly sprinkle over the lemon juice.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves, cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  • Transfer to serving plates and serve hot.


  • 500 grams okra, rinsed, drained, cut to 1 inch pieces and discard the ends
  • 150 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 3-4 green chillies, finely chopped
  • Few curry leaves
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh coriander leaves
