Preparation Method :

  • The oil in a large saucepan.
  • Add in the white cumin seeds and dried red chillies.
  • Add the sliced onions to the pan and fry, until golden brown.
  • Add in the spice mixture and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the sliced potatoes and the cauliflower florets to the onion mixture, stir until the vegetables coat well in the spice mixture.
  • Simmer to low flame and add the green chillies, fresh coriander leaves and water to the pan.
  • Cover and cook the mixture for about 15-20 minutes or until done.
  • Transfer the potato and cauliflower curry to warm serving plates and serve immediately.


  • 250 grams potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • ½ cauliflower, cut into small florets
  • 50 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon white cumin seeds
  • 3-4 dried red chillies
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2-3 green chillies  
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • 150 ml water

Spice Mixture

  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, finely chopped
  • 4-5 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
  • Salt and chilli powder, to taste
  • A pinch of turmeric
