Preparation Method :

  • Grate coconut.
  • Chop snake gourd into thin round pieces for 800 grams.
  • Pressure cook snake gourd in salt water as specified for green vegetables.
  • Add lesser water than other vegetables as it leaves water while cooking. Also, it avoids becoming soggy. Open and keep aside.
  • Heat oil, splutter the mustard seeds, and add the red chilly. Now add the vegetable, stir well and remove from fire. Add grated coconut, mix.
  • Serve hot with rice.


  • 1 kg of snake gourd
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Red chilly halved
  • 2 tablespoon coconut
  • 1 teaspoon Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
