VAAL CURRY

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the Oil, add cardamom, red chilli, garlic paste and onion paste. Saute it till Oil separates.
  • Now add ginger chilli paste, ground almond, tomato paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and Garam masala, sauté for a minute.
  • Add potatoes, double beans and carrot, add little water, Cover and cook till vegetables are done.
  • Soak saffron in 1 tablespoon milk and add into the Curry.
  • Purée the soaked Kokam and add it into gravy.
  • Add coconut milk and salt.
  • Simmer it till gravy turns thick.
  • Garnish with coriander.

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams Double Beans / Vaal, removed from pods
  • 4 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 2 dry Red Chilies
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 100 grams Onion paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Chili paste
  • 2 tablespoon Ground Almonds
  • 100 grams Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 medium size Potato chopped
  • 1 Carrot chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut Milk
  • 5 Kokam, soaked in water
  • A pinch of Saffron
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander chopped to Garnish
