Preparation Method :

  • Melt ghee in large frying pan, add seeds; stir for about 2-3 minutes or until seeds begin to pop.
  • Stir in the mung beans with onion and ginger; stir over medium heat for about 2 minutes or until onion is soft.
  • Stir in cayenne, beans, capsicum and the water; stir over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes or until beans are tender but firm to bite.
  • Stir in the lemon juice for about a minute. Sprinkle with coconut and serve.


  • 500 grams green beans
  • 2 red capsicum, sliced
  • 100 ml water  
  • 50 grams ghee
  • 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds
  • 25 grams peeled split mung beans
  • 75 grams brown onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt, to taste
  • 50 grams desiccated coconut
