Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan over a medium heat and add the cumin seeds and the garlic. Fry for about 20-30 seconds or until lightly browned.
  • Remove from heat then add the broccoli and adjust seasoning with salt. Return to the heat and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 2 cups of water and the ground spice. Cook for a further 5 minutes or until the broccoli is tender. Mix in the chillies and cook for a further minute.
  • Serve with Lamb Rogan Josh and Cucumber and Tomato Raita.


  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 small garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • ½ teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2-3 red chillies, halved and deseeded
  • Salt, to taste
