Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan and fry the ginger until just coloured.
  • Add the peas, half a cup of water, cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the peas are tender.
  • Add in the chillies, coriander powder and salt.
  • Add the remaining spices and lemon juice. Garnish with the fresh coriander. Serve hot.


  • 500 grams shelled fresh green peas
  • 3 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried mango powder
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and cut into shreds
  • 1-2 green chillies, seeded and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • 2 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander to garnish
