Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan, then add the cumin seeds, green chillies and ginger. When the cumin seeds begin to change colour, add the garlic and saute for 2 minutes. Stir in the potatoes.
  • Add the sesame seeds, peanuts, ground cumin, chilli powder, crushed peppercorns, coconut and garam masala, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  • Add the salt and transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with the fresh coriander.


  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4 green chillies, chopped
  • 2.5cm piece root ginger, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 500 grams baby potatoes, boiled and halved  
  • 2 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • 50 grams unsalted peanuts, coarsely crushed
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 6 black peppercorns, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon grated fresh coconut
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
