Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a large frying-pan. Add in the onions and fry them, until they turn golden brown.
  • Add in the spice mixture. Stir in half the quantity of water, cover and cook until the onions are cooked through.
  • Add the potato slices to the mixture and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the peas and the remaining water to the pan, cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the potatoes and peas to serving plates. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve.


  • 250 grams potatoes, peeled, rinsed and cut each into 6 slices
  • 150 grams peas
  • 250 grams onions, sliced
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 250 ml water
  • Fresh coriander leaves, to garnish
  • Chopped red chillies, to garnish

Spice Mixture

  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, finely chopped
  • 4-5 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
  • Salt and chilli powder, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • 2-3 fresh green chillies, finely chopped
