Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil, when hot add the curry leaves and onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the diced potatoes and fry for about 2 minutes.
  • Mix in the tamarind juice, salt, chilli powder and jaggery and simmer for a couple of minutes.
  • Sprinkle in the coriander powder and simmer again till well blended. Turn off the heat.
  • Garnish with the chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.


  • 150 grams large onions, diced
  • 500 grams large potatoes, cooked, peeled and cut into small cubes
  • A lime-sized tamarind ball, soaked and juice extracted
  • 50 ml coconut oil
  • A few curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • A bunch of coriander leaves, chopped fine
  • A lime-sized piece of jaggery, grated
