Preparation Method :

  • Wash, peel and slice the potatoes into 5mm rounds. Place these in a bowl with water to prevent discolouring.
  • In a deep frying pan heat the oil until hot and add the cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  • Lower the heat to medium and add dried red chillies. Fry until these turn a shade darker.
  • Drain and pat dry the potatoes and add these to the seasoned oil.
  • Add the salt and fry the potatoes until they are cooked through. 


  • 3 medium potatoes 
  • 5 tablespoons peanut oil
  • ½ teaspoon whole cumin seeds
  • 3 curry leaves 
  • 3 dried red chillies 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
